A clerk at a market in San Francisco’s Richmond District died after being attacked during a robbery, authorities said Wednesday.

The attack happened around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Richmond Market, 3950 Balboa St. Officers found a 60-year-old man on the ground unconscious. He was taken to a hospital, where he died on Tuesday, Aug. 29, according to San Francisco police.

The victim has been identified as Yohannes “John” Tewolde, said Supervisor Connie Chan, who represents the Richmond District on the Board of Supervisors.

Police have not made an arrest in the case or released any suspect details. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact the SFPD tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
