Someone keeps changing plaque to read ‘woman’

Aug. 7

VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH NO INJURIES: 8:23 a.m. on High School Court. A dark gray Honda Civic was hit by a white construction truck. The construction truck driver claimed he didn’t hit the Honda, but witnesses watched the truck hit the car.

Aug. 8

MUNI CODE VIOLATION: 12:39 p.m. on Alpine Avenue. There was a porta potty on the roadway in front of a house, and the homeowner said they didn’t have an encroachment permit.

Aug. 9

VANDALISM: 1:36 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial on East Main Street. Someone continues to deface the POW memorial plaque by placing a sticker with “wo” in front of the word “man.” Every time a sticker is removed by those who tend to the memorial, a new sticker is placed. This has caused gradual damage to the plaque.

AUTO BURGLARY: 2:18 p.m. at Oak Meadow Park on Blossom Hill Road. A woman was napping in her vehicle when two suspects opened the car door and took her bag. She tried to chase them, and they tried to run her over as they left.

JUVENILE DISTURBANCE: 9:55 p.m.  at Bean and North Santa Cruz avenues. Someone was throwing eggs at people out of a white pickup truck with a big American flag hanging out the back.s

Aug. 10

VEHICLE CODE VIOLATION: 3:58 p.m. at University Avenue and Blossom Hill Road. Someone called in about another person who was driving “like a jerk.”

TRAFFIC HAZARD: 4:38 p.m. at Los Gatos Saratoga Road and Highway 17. A naked man was running down the road. He was gone when officers arrived.

JUVENILE DISTURBANCE: 10:49 p.m. at Petco on North Santa Cruz Avenue. Juveniles were reportedly shooting a paintball or pellet gun at vehicles in the parking lot. They were gone when officers arrived.

Aug. 11

PETTY THEFT: 10:16 a.m. on Oak Rim Court. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle, tossed items around and stole the registration. The reporting party said some of her neighbors’ cars had also been entered.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: 3:46 p.m. at Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue. A man was following a woman around the store while she was shopping and engaged in contact with her three times. Each time he made inappropriate comments, and at one point he brushed up against her. When she approached employees to tell them what happened, he fled.

TRAFFIC HAZARD: 4:41 p.m. at Lark Avenue and Oka Road. A vehicle was stopped because a kitten ran into a nearby vehicle engine bay.

GRAND THEFT: 6:25 p.m. at Los Gatos Soda Works on College Avenue. Two suspects in a white truck took construction items.
