The limited-time engagement of 'Rogers: The Musical' in the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure won't be extended when the show ends its run on Aug. 31.

You better act fast if you put off seeing “Rogers: The Musical” at Disney California Adventure, were counting on an extended engagement or just hoping to catch the unconventional Broadway-style show one more time — the two-month limited summer run is ending soon.

Rogers: The Musical” will end its summer run on Aug. 31 and the limited-time engagement at the Hyperion Theater won’t be extended at this time, according to Disneyland officials.

While some entertainment at the Disneyland resort returns after an initial run, others open and close as dedicated limited-time offerings, according to Disneyland officials.

The 35-minute one-act musical runs Tuesdays through Saturdays with showtimes at 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 4 p.m.

At the moment, nothing new is scheduled to replace “Rogers” in the Hyperion Theater. It took six months to prepare “Rogers” for its Hyperion debut — so it’s unlikely anything new will be moving into the 2,000-seat theater this year. Disneyland has not posted any Hyperion acting roles to the Disney Auditions website — typically the first sign a new show is in the works.

Disney Live Entertainment could always bring back “Rogers” to the Hyperion for another run — but that’s unlikely in the immediate future. It would make more sense to extend the run rather than cut loose all the actors and rehire a new cast to play Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man and Hawkeye.

“Rogers: The Musical” tells the life story of Captain America and follows the journey of Steve Rogers from his service in World War II to becoming Earth’s first known superhero to the birth of the Avengers.

Marvel fans were introduced to the fictional “Rogers: The Musical” in the first episode of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” In the TV show, Hawkeye attends a performance of the Broadway musical about the life of Rogers, the first Captain America.

“In the show, all the Avengers are invited to New York for the premiere of the brand new, showstopping musical but only Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, shows up,” according to Marvel.com. “The MIA Avengers don’t know what they’re missing, though, as viewers are treated to a musical number based on The Battle of New York … though a few creative liberties have been taken here and there.”

The “Rogers” musical at DCA’s Hyperion features “Save the City” from the Disney+ show, “Star Spangled Man” from the 2011 film “Captain America: The First Avenger” and five new original songs written for the show.

Before the “Rogers” run, the Hyperion Theater sat dark for three years following the pandemic closure of Disneyland and DCA in 2020. The Hyperion has been home to shortened one-act versions of “Frozen,” “Aladdin” and “Blast” since the theater opened with the park in 2001.
