Theft by credit card: Between 4:45 p.m. and 8 p.m., someone stole credit cards from a vehicle left with its windows rolled down at the Saratoga Country Club on Prospect Road. The suspect then used the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases totaling approximately $1,449.
AUG. 11
Theft by false pretenses: Someone telephoned the victims claiming their grandson was in jail and in need of bail money. The suspect then went to the victims’ residence in the 18000 block of Ambleside Lane and obtained $10,000 in cash.
DUI, non-injury collision, unlicensed driver: At 7:35 p.m., deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident at Prospect Road and Lyle Drive. An investigation revealed the suspect did not have a driver’s license, was driving under the influence of alcohol and had two outstanding warrants.

Possession of destructive incendiary device in public: At 4:23 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a suspicious device found near the train tracks between Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and Cox Avenue. Bomb squad deputies responded, and an incendiary device was collected from the scene. A suspect was identified, arrested and booked into juvenile hall.
