MARTINEZ — Law enforcement officers shot and killed a man after responding to a burglary call at a cannabis dispensary early Friday, sources told the Bay Area News Group.

Martinez police and Contra Costa Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Velvet cannabis dispensary in the 4800 block of Sunrise Drive, near Pacheco Boulevard, before sunrise. Sources said they were called there on a burglary call at the dispensary.

The Contra Costa Fire Protection District also responded. Fire district spokesperson Capt. George Laing said three ambulances and two fire engines responded to the scene at 3:30 a.m. and that two adults were taken by ambulance to a hospital.
