The killing is the 69th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 77 homicides in the city.

About 1:16 a.m. Sunday a 52-year-old man was found shot multiple times at the intersection of East 15th Street and 20th Avenue in East Oakland. He was taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
