Officers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound Sunday in the 5800 block of Bancroft Avenue.

OAKLAND – Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 31-year-old man over the weekend in East Oakland, according to authorities.

Paula Faaui was arrested on suspicion of murder and Sariah Faaui was arrested on suspicion of accessory to murder, the Oakland Police Department said in an advisory Thursday afternoon.

Both suspects were arraigned Thursday morning in Alameda County Superior Court, according to online court records.

Officers found the victim, identified as Julian Carillo-Garcia, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound just before 6 p.m. Sunday in the 5800 block of Bancroft Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim was shot after getting into an argument with another person.

A 38-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were also killed in separate shootings Sunday morning. The first happened just before 3 a.m. in the 500 block of 17th Street in the Uptown District and the second around 5:45 a.m. in the 9200 block of E Street.

None of the killings are believed to be related, police said.
