The 27-acre fire was 50% contained just after 7 p.m. Friday.

ALAMEDA COUNTY – Crews on Friday night were fighting a fire in the Altamont Pass, according to authorities.

The blaze was reported at 5:37 p.m. at Interstate 580 and Grant Line Road, Cal Fire said in a social media post. As of 7:07 p.m., the fire covered 27 acres and was 50% contained.

“Dozers and crews are working to reinforce containment lines,” Cal Fire said in the post.
