Simitian’s sidewalk office hours
Santa Clara County Joe Simitian, whose district includes Los Gatos, is once again holding “Sidewalk Office Hours” at local farmers’ markets. Simitian will make an appearance at the Los Gatos Farmers’ Market next Sunday, Sept. 10, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Residents can drop by Simitian’s table without an appointment to ask questions and have discussions about county issues.
Volunteer with LGS Rec
Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation has released its Fall 2023 Activity Guide. The community center—which offers extracurricular programs, camps during academic holidays and full-time child care—is actively recruiting volunteers and instructors for its upcoming programs. Construction debris meeting
Construction of new buildings and demolition of old ones can mean exciting changes for the town, but they also produce a lot of waste. Now residents can learn more about how the local government addresses the bulky byproducts of development. On Thursday, Sept. 7, the West Valley Solid Waste Management Authority is holding an open board meeting to discuss its construction debris programs. Storm drain proposals
Last month’s heavy rainfall in Southern California underscored the importance of strong, reliable local infrastructure. This month, the Town of Los Gatos is seeking proposals from engineers to map out the town’s storm drain system. Details on the project are available at www.LosGatosPlanRoom.com. Proposals are due Sept. 15.
