This week Mercedes Benz sent me an EQB 250 all electric SUV to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this EV model is $52,750. The options on the test SUV are: the metallic paint for $750, the natural grain black Linden wood interior trim for $325, the all season black rubber floor mats for $170, a first aid kit for $35, the charging pad for $250, the garage door opener for $280, the panorama roof for $1,500, the heated steering wheel for $250, the speed limit assist package for $300, SiriusXM radio for $150, heated front seats for $500, the heated windshield for $200, the driver assistance package for $1,300, and the exclusive package for $1,250. The MSRP manufactures suggested retail price, including the $1,150 delivery charge, is: $61,160.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your garage total purchase price came to: $68,805. For less than $69 Grand you are driving a pretty cool looking and great driving all electric SUV. With the prestige and luxury from one of the top automobile manufacturers in the world, Mercedes Benz, you can buy, or lease, a great all electric EV for less than what many other car company’s charge for their ordinary run of the mill compact electric SUV’s.

With the average transaction price for an electric SUV now at $68,000, the 2023 Mercedes Benz EQB 250 all electric SUV is priced right at that sweet spot. The base price for an EQB 250 is $52,750. With $8,000 in options, the delivery charge, sales tax and DMV fees; for just under $69,000, you get an SUV with the reliability, luxury appointments, and the German engineering of a Mercedes Benz.

To get to this level of value the EQB 250 has an all electric drivetrain that gets up to 245 miles on a full charge. On a 240 volt Level II charger the battery is fully charged in 8.25 hours and can also be charged on a 100 watt Level III fast charger. The EQB 250 has a standard 9.6 kW charger on board for 110 Volt Level I charging. There are three ways to charge this EV SUV, plus it has high capacity regenerative braking. The fuel economy rating is 105 MPGe and any number above 100 is in the excellent range territory.

Comfort and convenience start with: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, dual zone automatic climate control, keyless start, MB navigation with optimized routing, a mirror dimming package, power front seats with lumbar support and memory, split folding rear seats, rain sensing windshield wipers, a power life gate with foot activation, 115 volt AC outlets, a 64 color ambient lighting system, a 10.25″ digital instrument cluster and a 10.25″ digital center stack media display with a touch screen and voice activation.

Safety and security include: a 24 hour roadside assistance program, active braking assist, active parking assist, adaptive high beam assist, an advanced air bag protection system, an advanced ABS antilock braking system, an anti-theft alarm system, blind spot assist, an advanced ESP electronic stability program, LED headlights, LED tail lamps, MB emergency call service, a rear view digital camera, and a free complementary factory scheduled maintenance program for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.
