Several were brought into custody and two were injured after a shooting just south of downtown San Jose early Wednesday morning, police said.

SAN JOSE — An early Wednesday morning shooting just south of downtown San Jose left two people wounded and several others being taken into custody, according to authorities.

In a series of posts to social media, San Jose police said officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 160 block of West Alma Avenue at 1:12 a.m. Upon arrival, two men were transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Police located a suspect vehicle which then fled the scene, and officers pursued the vehicle to a location outside of the City of San Jose. Police said that “several subjects” were taken into custody and at least one firearm was recovered.
