ANTIOCH — A man found mortally injured following a fight on a trail has been identified by authorities.

Police provided emergency care after their arrival to the Delta de Anza Trail in Antioch on Friday, but Jonathan Craig, 43, of Pittsburg died at the scene. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office identified him Monday.

Antioch police Lt. Rick Martin in a statement said police were called to the trail near the 4100 block of Null Drive about 9:30 a.m. Martin said detectives are investigating the case as a homicide, the ninth of the year they’ve probed in the city.

Police have not said whether they’ve identified a suspect. They asked anyone with information to contact Det. Arturo Becerra at 925-779-6937.
