A man died after a shooting in East San Jose on Wednesday night, and police say the suspect is still unknown.

SAN JOSE — A man was shot and killed Wednesday night in East San Jose, according to authorities.

Police found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound after responding around 9:13 p.m. to a report of a shooting on the 1600 block of Tully Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner will release his identity once it is confirmed and his next of kin are notified.

The suspect fled before police arrived and no arrests have been announced.

The homicide was San Jose’s 29th of 2023.
