The killing is the city's fourth homicide of the year.

FREMONT — A man was fatally shot Wednesday evening in the city’s central district, authorities said.

His name has not yet been released.

The man was shot about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of Walnut Avenue. Despite efforts by paramedics, he died at the scene.

A motive for the killing has not been determined yet and no suspects have been identified or arrested, police said.

The killing is the city’s fourth homicide of the year.

Police are asking business owners and residents living near the homicide scene to review video surveillance and notify detectives of any information that could help in the investigation.
