The Warriors lost their second overtime game to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 138-136, on Friday night at Paycom Center.
Both of Golden State’s overtime losses this season have come against the Thunder, and Chet Holmgren has sent both games into OT. This time, a clutch Steph Curry 3-pointer gave the Warriors a 3-point lead in the final seconds, but Draymond Green fouled Holmgren from beyond the arc. Holmgren made all three made free throws to tie the game. Curry’s missed 3 going one-on-one against Lu Dort in the final seven seconds of regulation hit iron and sent the game to overtime.
Golden State turned the ball over an NBA season-high 29 times and the Thunder scored 35 points off their turnovers. Cory Joseph was the only Warrior without a turnover and eight of the 10 Warriors who saw the court had at least one turnover. Andrew Wiggins had six, Thompson and Green had four each.
Curry finished with a team-high 34 points and Jonathan Kuminga had 24. Klay Thompson finished with 22.
The Warriors’ road trip moves to Phoenix where they’ll take on old friend Kevin Durant and the Suns on Tuesday. Then they’ll take on the Clippers for a third time in two weeks on Thursday in Los Angeles.
